For this tutorial we will be making the bear above.
this assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

You will need Paint Shop Pro
this was done using version 7.

Eyecandy 3.1 download a free version here,
http://www.planetphotoshop.com/showcase_ec3.html

My Selections save these in a folder of your choice.

Start by opening a new image 425 x 500 with a transparent background.

Name the first layer arm1, go to "selections" "load from disk" and
open the arm1.sel, fill this with a brown, I used #D3BE9F, go to
"selections" "float" then "effects" "3d effects" "cutout" using these settings

Vertical=0 Horizontal=0 Opacity=100 Blur=55 Color=7A592A

Deselect, go to "effects" "noise" and add 3% uniform noise.
then go to "effects" "plugins" "eyecandy" and apply this Jiggle

Bubble Size=5 Warp Amount=10 Twist=90 Brownian Motion

Add a new layer and name it back leg,
"selections" "load from disk" and open the backleg.sel
fill with the same color, "selections" "float" and "effects" "3d effects"
"cutout" using the same settings. deselect and "effects" "noise" same settings.
then apply the same eyecandy Jiggle filter.

Add a new layer and name it tail, "selections" "load from disk"
and open the tail.sel, fill with the same color, "selections"
"float" and apply the same cutout but change the blur to 29
deselect and apply 3% uniform noise and the same eyecandy jiggle.

Add a new layer and name it body
"selections" "load from disk" and open the body.sel
"selections" "float" and apply the same cutout but change
the blur to 80. Deselect and apply 3% uniform noise.
"effects" "plugins" and apply the same eyecandy jiggle.

Add a new layer and name it bow1
"selections" "load from disk" and open the bow1.sel
Fill this selection with a gradient of your choice
here is a preview of the one I used...

while still selected, go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" and change the
brightness to -40 and contrast at 5. then go to "selections" "modify" "contract"
changing the number to 1, and fill this selection with the same gradient, this
gives it an outline... deselect.

Add a new layer and call it frontleg,
fill with same color you used on bear, #D3BE9F
"selections" "float" and apply the same cutout,
changing the blur to 50,

Vertical=0 Horizontal=0 Opacity=100 Blur=50 Color=7A592A

deselect and apply 3% uniform noise,
apply eyecandy jiggle with the same settings.
